Thawing
Thaw thoroughly before cooking. Thaw in refrigerator for 48–72 hours. For a faster method, place the turducken in a clean can liner and submerge in cool water for 6–10 hours; keep packaging intact to avoid dilution of seasoning.
Cooking & Serving Notes
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Place breast side up on a rack in a greased roasting pan; cover wings and legs with foil.
- Loosely tent entire bird with foil; bake covered 2 hours, then uncovered 1½ hours or until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Baste with butter during the last hour if desired and allow to rest 45 minutes before slicing; for best slicing, rest an extra 20–30 minutes, remove netting if present, slice from wing to wing into ½"–¾" pieces.
