Stove Top Directions
- Add 1 lb smoked sausage or ham (optional) to a 3-quart saucepan and sauté in 1 tbsp oil. Stir in the beans & rice mix and 3½ cups water. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer on low 25 minutes or until rice is tender. Remove from heat, let stand 5 minutes and fluff with a fork.
Instant Pot Directions
- Follow Instant Pot manufacturer instructions. Use sauté to brown 1 lb smoked sausage or ham (optional) in 1 tbsp oil. Cancel sauté. Stir in 3½ cups water and mix. Close lid and manual high pressure cook 12 minutes. Use natural pressure release, open lid and fluff before serving.
