Cooking Instructions
- Rinse and drain beans.
- Place beans in a 4-quart pot, add 10 cups water and stir in the seasoning packet.
- Add meat if desired or substitute beef/chicken stock for water.
- Cover and bring to a boil, reduce to a low boil and cook 2 to 2½ hours, adding water as necessary, until beans are tender.
- Serve over rice.
