Stove top preparation
- Pick a protein (1–1½ lbs): smoked sausage, cooked chicken, ham or shrimp.
- Mix 3-3/4 cups water, Rice Mix, chosen meat and 2 tbsp vegetable or olive oil (optional) in a 3‑quart saucepan.
- Bring to a boil; reduce heat, cover and simmer 25 minutes or until rice is tender. Add cooked shrimp during last 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let stand 5 minutes; fluff with a fork.
