A: Hello! That's a great question about our delicious boudin sausage! We want to make sure your order arrives fresh and ready to enjoy. How Your Boudin Sausage Is Shipped All of our perishable products, including our authentic boudin sausage, are shipped with the utmost care to ensure they reach you in perfect condition. Deep Freeze Packaging: We pack your boudin frozen in a reusable, custom-branded insulated foam cooler. This cooler is filled with plenty of dry ice to maintain a deep freeze environment throughout transit. This commitment to quality ensures your boudin stays perfectly frozen, whether you choose Ground or an Express shipping method. Shipping Time to the Chicago Area How long it takes for your order to reach the Chicago area depends on the shipping method you select at checkout. Processing Time: All orders placed before 1 PM Central Standard Time (CST) are batched and processed on the same day. Shipping Options: We offer several convenient options from Louisiana to all 50 U.S. states, including Chicago: Ground Shipping: If you select Ground for your perishable order, your package will be delivered within 9 business days or less. Express Methods (Guaranteed): For faster delivery or if you need your boudin by a specific date, we recommend one of our guaranteed Express methods: Express Saver (3-Day transit): Ships on Mondays and Tuesdays only. 2-Day: Ships Monday through Thursday. Overnight: Ships Monday through Friday. Weekend Deliveries: Please note that perishable foods do not ship over the weekend to prevent them from sitting in transit too long. For example, Express Saver only ships on Mondays and Tuesdays. We calculate shipping rates based on the total weight of your order and your destination zip code (using current UPS and FedEx tables). The quoted rate for perishable orders always includes the cost of the foam cooler and dry ice – no hidden fees! We hope this helps, and we look forward to sending some authentic Louisiana flavor your way!

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS: FOR ALL METHODS BELOW, OBTAIN AT LEAST 160 DEGREES BEFORE EATING!

BAKE: Preheat oven to 300 degrees, place links on an oiled cookie sheet for 20 minutes, turning over every 5 minutes, for a crispy skin.

STEAM COOKING: Place links in a rice cooker with a little water to cover the bottom. Heat for 3 to 5 minutes on Cook cycle, then change settings to Warm. Ready to eat in 10 to 15 minutes. Let the links cool a little while on a plate before eating or slicing..

Microwave: Wrap one link in damp paper towel.  Heat for one minute on high or to desire heat level.

Steam: Fill pot with enough water to cover bottom (about half inch). Heat on high until steam forms.   Lower temperature and place boudin in pot.  Cover and heat for 2 minutes or until warm.  Do not submerge boudin in water.

BBQ Pit:  Roll link with foil and heat on pit.   Or, place boudin directly on grill and cook until outer casing is crisp.

Oven or skillet:  Heat slowly until skin becomes crisp

Absolutely amazing. Tastes great. Definitely ordering a freezer full.

More rice than pork and liver. The way that I prefer boudin. Some boudin has too much pork, and you might as well be eating sausage. This is pretty good breakfast boudin, or good on a cracker.

Just the best boudain you ever want to buy.

I live on the West Coast and can't get real boudin near me. But having 15 packs shipped to California, sure makes me a little less homesick for Louisiana food. I'll be ordering more soon.
